Networking - make the most out of the reunion!

We are so enthusiastic about catching up with old friends. This is a unique opportunity to meet new friends and encourage those who have been faithful for many years. So how can you make the most out of this Reunion?  Here are my top 5 tips.

Do some preparation

Have you wondered which brothers and sisters are still located on the islands from the good ol days that you would love to see and catch up with? Many of these brothers and sisters will be well along in years. However, won't be nice to find out more about them before you go to St Kitts & Nevis and make a special effort to visit them? It will take effort to do research to find out this information but it is well worth it.

Make new friends

The congegations have grown since we were in St Kitts & Nevis. This a great opportunity to meet new friends. Although the tendency will be to cling to those we know, why not make a special effort to get to know the new ones in St Kitts & Nevis. If you can, why not also take candies or colouring books and pencils for the children? Choose very low value things that can be shared.

Spiritual merchandise like bookmarks, diaries, magazines folders and fridge magnets are always nice and appreciated too. Convention notebooks for the children will be so encouraging for them. These are just some ideas. Try Cheerful Gifter for some inspiration. This is a UK supplier but I am sure there are similar companies in the US.

Participate in Field Service

There will be an opportunity to participate in field service on Wednesday in St Kitts. Try to work with someone new and get to know them and provide encouragement.

What a fine witness this will be to the communities in which we preach! The young people should be out of school so a great opportunity to encourage the young ones.

Work the room at the Black Tie Event

There will be no seating plan at the formal black tie event on Saturday night. Resist the inclination to sit with people you know. Try and widen out with your brothers and sisters. If you can, bring your "contact cards" so you can share and try to stay in touch.

Attend all the Reunion Activities

Much effort has gone into arranging the various activities. I realise that the activities planned will not be to everyone's taste and funds may also be an issue. Do try to participate in the group activities to the extent that you can so we can have a real buzz at this reunion. Don't forget ... volunteer! volunteer! volunteer! There is always something you can help with. Have a look at the page "Volunteers Needed" and put your hand up to help.
These are my 5 tips. Perhaps you have others. Do share in the comment box below. We would love to hear them.

Along those lines,am thinking that there might be a few who just lost faith along the way and stop associating. If there are such ,it may be a loving thing for some of us to go look them up.May be thats all it takes to rekindle their love for jehovah and his organization. Also their may be brothers and sisters whi may own businesses especially in the transition sector.lets support them so that they first can benifitfinancially from our other words give them our business.

Yes that is a good idea. In fact I was thinking to create a page for those who have businesses so you can display this on the website. Would love to hear if any one has objections. I will create a new poll on that. Thanks Junie

Field service day could be a day that the entire country get a seems as though there will be a lot of witnesses in st.kitts for the eight days.maybe it can be aranged for us to spread out, meet at different field service points around the island and do what do best.

Another great idea, Junie. Thanks for getting involved. Really appreciate it.

Let's also encourage interaction on the Discussion Board also by raising relevant topics. I want to hear people's voices!

As far as the trip to nevis.I dont know how things went the last time but it might help to start thinking of chartering a boat for or below the normal price. There seems to be an ample supply. The main idea is to keep us together, enjoy the trip together.we leave together and return one gets left behind or stranded.

Thanks for the suggestion. We are still in the early stages of planning for the day trip to Nevis. We will certainly add this suggestion to the brainstorming process. Thank you for your suggestion. Barbara
